Calendar view not displaying dots properly

Hello, I am creating a ticket here based on DMs from Twitter (I am @brokenparachute).

Basically, the calendar on Momento rarely displays dots. For instance, for June 2010, I have a grand total of zero dots.

Out of the 30 days in June, 10 of them have moments. All of the days except for one have social moments. So, I would think my calendar, if anything, would be littered with orange and blue dots. Yet...nothing.

For May, I have one blue dot. Actually, I didn't write any private moments at all during this period, but again, I have social moments on most of the days. The only thing special about the one day that does have the dot is that I loved a track on Last.fm. Yet, I did that on many other days (in May and elsehwere) and there are no dots at all.

April as well only has one dot, this one orange. It wasn't the only time I did a private moment that month, but for some reason, that is the one that showed up on the calendar.

March had two orange dots, again, nothing in particular. February has zero dots, even though I used Momento with decent frequency for both social and private moments.

January has one social blue dot, on the 6th, which is funny, because I didn't even buy the app until the 23rd of that month, so clearly when the app was loading my past social events it went back and dotted some days, but again, not all (or even many) of them. Like, there are two blue dots in Dec 09, none in Nov/Oct, then two more in September. Etc. I could keep going back but I think you get the gist of it.

Anyway, it's not a huge deal, the only reason I am really filing this ticket is because you guys asked :) I was just curious if there was some sort of black magic involved with getting the dots to appear, but I am more than happy to help you guys try and squash this bug.

For reference, I'm on an iPhone 3G still running firmware 3.0 (waiting for the sweet sweet iPhone 4 to come out here in Taiwan before I bother to go to 4.0). I have Twitter, Last.fm, and Flickr feeds set up, but I don't have Facebook linked.

Just randomly throwing out thoughts as to what could be creating the problem.... the only thing weird that often is a problem is that I sometimes use Chinese characters to write, and perhaps that is somehow messing up the database or the way the app interprets the moments? The dots that do appear don't appear to have anything special in this way, but sometimes weirdness can result from using foreign charactersets.

Thanks for the help so far with the matter. Let's see if we can get this resolved :)

    Hi there,

Thank you for getting in touch and submitting a support ticket.

I believe this is an issue with Momento running on iOS 3.0 and should be resolved by upgrading to iOS 3.1+. I cannot seem to replicate the issue and figure out why it is occurring, however once you have upgraded (to 3.1.3 or 4.0) then it should sort itself out!

Sorry for the inconvenience and the confusion as to the dots on the calendar view!!

    Best regards,
    Michael
