I had Momento on my iPhone 3Gs. I bought an iPhone 4. I backed up the 3Gs and checked that there was a backup. I synched the new phone using the restore from backup option. Opened Momento and all is blank! It's been able to pull my Facbook feeds, but none of the direct entries or photos. I'm crushed. What should I do? The 3Gs still has Momento on it, but no email/Internet connnection. It's going to my daughter, so I'm intending to wipe it and give it to her fresh. Is there any hope of getting everything back?

    Hi Barbara,

It sounds like the backup of your 3GS didn't complete successfully - sometimes this can happen if the process is interrupted, or occasionally iTunes fails to complete the process properly. We recommend backing up your iPhone 3GS again and restoring your iPhone 4 from the backup.

Best of luck and let me know if you have any problems.

    Best regards,
    Michael

Thank you so much for your very prompt reply. I suspect that's what happened. I've made a new fresh back up from the 3Gs, but I have two questions:

First, how to I get the 4 to rstore from back up? The first time I synched it, I was given that option; now it just backs up and synchs. I'm not sure how to force it to restore from back up.

Secondly, I've upgraded all my apps and installed a few new ones on the iPhone 4. If I restore from back up, will all that be lost?

I do appreciate your help--and I'd like you to know that I really enjoy Momento. I tried several diary apps, but your is the most elegant.

    Hi Barbara,

Restoring from an existing backup will effectively return it to the state of the backup. This means that any application data, photos, text message etc will return to the state of the backup. All the applications you have upgraded will return to their previous state, and your new applications will be considered a fresh install, i.e. no application data will be restored.

For more details on restoring your iphone, please see Apple's official documentation on: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414 and our FAQ at http://support.momentoapp.com/faqs/general/can-i-backup-my-momento-...

    Best regards,
    Ollie
