Can I backup my Momento data?
Momento's data is backed up everytime you sync your device with iTunes. The data is stored as part of a complete device backup which contains all of your installed applications' data (such as saved files/games, settings and preferences) as well as SMS messages, photos, videos, calendars, contacts, etc*.
You can use a backup to restore this information to your iPhone or iPod touch after a software restore or update, or to transfer information to a different device.
We recommend carefully reading Apple's official support documentation on backing-up, restoring and updating your device before attempting to update, restore or transfer data.
Important notes
-
DO NOT delete Momento from your device. Doing so will delete your Momento data and becuase iTunes only keeps one backup, your backed up data will be overwritten when you sync your device with iTunes.
-
Ensure your device backs-up and syncs successfully before proceeding with an update or restore.
-
We highly recommend making a copy of your device's backup just incase something goes wrong during the process**.
Once you are happy that your data is safely backed up, you can continue with the software update or restore. Details of this process can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Transferring data to a new device
To transfer your data to a new device, such as the iPhone 4, simply choose to restore from a backup of your old device. This option will be made available to you when connecting your new device to iTunes.
Future backup functionaility
In addition to the standard iTunes backup, we are working on an independent backup and restore solution which will take advantage of the file sharing functionality provided in iOS 4. This feature will be made available in the next major update of Momento coming soon.
