Tags Explained

Tags provide you with a way to keyword moments for searching and categorising.

You can tag a moment when writing a new entry or editing an existing one. To enter multiple tags, simply type your tag, hit return and then type the next. In the case that the tag your typing already exists, Momento will present suggestions from which you can select.

People

The People tag can be used to tag people you have met, people you are with or people you have mentioned. This can then allow you to view all your moments with those people in.

Places

The Places tag allows you to tag your current location when writing the moment, or the locations you mention in your moment.

Places are broken down in to four sections: Location, Town / City, County / State, Country

You can enter a place by typing out the place name using commas to separate the sections. For example,
York Minster, York, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom OR Apple HQ, Cupertino, California, USA

Alternatively, you can tap the green + icon to the right of the tag screen. This will allow you to enter your location in a form or find your current location using GPS. For more information on using location services, please visit our FAQ here.

Events

The events tag is designed to group moments during memorable events. We can often struggle to remember a date of a particular event, but we do remember the event itself. An example would be "John Appleseed's 20th Birthday Party" or "Matt and Claire's Wedding" or "Australia Holiday 2010".

Custom

Custom tags give you the flexibility to categorise and keyword moments however you wish.

A great use of custom tags is for creating sub-diaries for specific activities. For example:
To create a Gratitude Diary, tag moments with 'Gratitude' when you mention something you are grateful for. To view your Gratitude Diary, simply go to the 'Tags' section in the tab bar > Custom > Gratitude.

You can either create moments specifically for a tag, or you can simply use the tag when mentioning something related to it.

Here are some examples of custom tags...

Dream - Record your dreams each morning as soon as you wake up to create a Dream Diary.

Workout - Record your workout achievements.

Pregancy - Record your moments throughout pregnancy.

Ideas - Keep track of ideas you have on the go.

Film Review - Create a moment dedicated to your review of a film, rate the film using the rating and then use this tag to view all the films you've seen and see when you watched them.

Meeting - Record notes from a meeting

Goals - Record the things you want to achieve
