How to export your data
Exporting Data in Momento 2
Momento 2 (or greater) can export your data as a plain text file bundled with all your photos. The text file includes all your written moments and feed data and can be opened in all text editors, such as TextEdit (Mac), Notepad (Windows) or Microsoft Office.
- Launch Momento
- Go to Settings > Data > Export
- Select your preference of export settings and tap 'Export'
- Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes
- Select your device from the sidebar and navigate to the 'Apps' tab
- Scroll to the bottom of this window to find the File Sharing browser
- Select 'Momento' from the 'Apps' list to view Momento's documents
- Drag the export file from the browser to your computer. Alternatively you can select the file from the list and click 'Save to...'.
- Open the .zip the file to extract your data
Please note: This is not a backup and cannot be imported in to Momento. If you wish to backup your data, please see this FAQ article.
Deleting an export file from your device
- Select the export from the iTunes File Sharing document browser
- Press 'Backspace' or 'Delete' on your keyboard.
Version 1.0 Export Files
The .plist export available in v1 has been removed in favour of the plain text export.
Whilst these files were never intended for backup, we are aware some users assumed they could restore from these files. If you used this file to backup your Momento data and would like to import this data in to Momento 2.0, please contact our support team for a temporary solution.
