How far back does Momento import historical feed data?

Momento imports as much data from social web services as the provider allows through their API.

Facebook

Due to Facebook limitations, Momento will only be able to download your last 30 days or 50 statuses, whichever is greater. This limitation was introduced in October 2010.

Please note:

Momento only downloads your status updates from Facebook. Facebook defines a "status update" as being anything you post on your wall that is less than 400 characters and does not contain links or media attachments.

Twitter

Due to limitations in place by Twitter, Momento can only download your last 3,200 tweets when downloading your past tweets. Until Twitter lift this restriction we cannot download your complete account history.

Gowalla

The Gowalla feed will only import Gowalla check-ins which no longer feature in the most recent version of Gowalla. These are not the same as 'stories' which were introduced in Gowalla v4 (Fall 2011). Unfortunately Gowalla does not yet provide third party access to 'story' data so this information cannot be imported by Momento.

YouTube, Vimeo & Digg

This feed is subject to limitations by the service provider. The data returned may be limited to the most recent items, either constrained by time or quantity. We recommend launching Momento regularly to ensure you archive all items. These feeds are only capable of accessing public/unprotected data.

Web Feeds (RSS/Atom)

Web feeds are subject to limitations by their source. The data returned may be limited to the most recent items, either constrained by time or quantity. We recommend launching Momento regularly to ensure you archive all items. These feeds are only capable of accessing public/unprotected data.

All other feeds

All other feeds currently have no restrictions. Your complete history of activity on these services will be archived.
